Mission

The Wilmington Arena Project was founded in 2024 with a vision to unite the Wilmington community through sports and shared experiences. Recognizing the city’s need for a central gathering space, the project set out to establish a multi-purpose arena that would not only house semi-professional hockey and basketball teams but also provide a venue for concerts, events, and community activities.

Born out of a passion for building community and fostering local pride, the initiative is quickly gaining traction, rallying support from residents, businesses, and civic leaders who share the belief that Wilmington deserves a space to connect, celebrate, and grow. 

The project is a testament to Wilmington’s spirit of collaboration and its commitment to a brighter, united future.

The Wilmington Arena Project has gained significant traction in 2024, with strong support from New Hanover County, which recognizes the arena’s potential to serve as a unifying force for the community. A location off I-40 has been the focus of serious discussions, providing an ideal site that ensures accessibility and visibility for this landmark project.

We are actively raising funds through corporate sponsorships, membership programs, and community contributions. These funds will be directed toward critical early-stage efforts, including feasibility studies, architectural planning, and phase 1 construction costs.

To build awareness and rally community support, we are leveraging activations, public relations campaigns, and branded merchandise, allowing individuals and organizations to show their enthusiasm for the project. Every partnership and contribution brings us closer to making the Wilmington Arena a cornerstone of our community, where sports and events will unite and inspire for generations to come.
